Training Course for Journalists: Journalism, Covid-19 and Corruption
The course aims at training journalists to understand the main topics related to the corruption issue during the pandemics of Covid-19 and its effects to the Brazilian context.
The sanitary crisis caused by the pandemics of Covid-19 has pushed public agents to act and promote measures to contain or reduce the spread of the coronavirus. The increased presence of the State in this manner, calls attention to more transparency in the actions in question. Investigative journalism becomes fundamental in this context and the present course aims to qualify those professionals. The course will be online, through Google Meet, and it will take place between October the 5th and 23rd of 2020. There will be fifteen classes in total divided in two modules. In the first module, there will be 5 classes (approximately two-hour length) focusing the big themes of investigative journalism in Brazil. The second module presents 11 classes (approximately 20-30 minutes each) on data journalism using the “CruzaGrafos” software, a tool developed to facilitate the access of public data to journalists.
