Mr. Lämmel MP took part at the foreign policy conference jointly hosted by KAS and the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs. The member of the committee of Economy and Technology stressed the importance of the "old economy" and high-tech engeneering for sustainable economic development. He spoke about fair global trade and intellectual property rights. Lämmel is supporting more Chinese investments to Germany. He questioned the sustainability of a so called socialist market economy. Roderich Kiesewetter MP speaks on a Policy Promoting Disarmament in Global Context

R. Kiesewetter MP, Speaker of the CDU/CSU faction in the Sub Committee for Disarmament, Arms Control, Non Proliferation

"Peace has become a preoccupation of the state and civil society alike", said the MP on a jointly foreign policy conference of KAS and CPIFA in Beijing. He reminded the audience of political disarmament and peace initiatives and international law contracts and evaluated their current relevance. He described specific German historical experience of peace and war as basis for the country's current policies. The speaker appreciated Chinese security policy initiatives in Asia.

Der ehemalige chinesische Botschafter in Deutschland, Mei Zhaorong hat bei der sicherheitspolitischen Konferenz der KAS und des China Institute of International Strategic Studies (CIISS) am 26. Mai in Peking eine Grundsatzrede über chinesische Erwartungen an den politischen Dialog mit Europa gehalten. Climate Change and Social Distributive Justice

In April 2010 the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Misereor held an international track II diplomacy conference on climate change with a view to promote an international agreement. This study emanates from this conference. It advocates a concept of socially balanced climate protection on a national and global level. The author looks into legal and interdisciplinary social science aspects. The alleged contrast between “social distributive justice (and economic development) versus ambitious climate policy” is rejected.
