Classroom week: Diploma in Nature-Based Solutions in Latin America

From March 18 to 22, the week was held in Colombia together with our partners from Universidad Ean, who offered their facilities in the capital Bogota, as well as in Puerto Carreño, on the border between Colombia and Venezuela.

3rd Anniversary of the Network of Mayors

The 2023 anniversary meeting of the Network of Sustainable Cities and Mayors for Democracy was held from November 8 to 10 in Puebla Mexico and was attended by 17 representatives, including mayors, advisors and chiefs of staff from cities in Latin American countries such as Argentina , Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Colombia and Mexico.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

In coordination with the Municipality of Barranco and the Embassy of Finland in Peru, on Sunday, November 26, 2023, we will hold the Bicicleteada "#BiciEKLANaranja" in order to join the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women; where the campaign "Paint the World Orange", an initiative promoted by the Nordic countries, aims to dye the color of the sunset a bright and optimistic future without violence against women and girls.

II Session 2023: Forum of Pan-Amazonian Cities (FCPA)

Del 17 al 19 de octubre, estuvimos en Porto Velho, una de las capitales de la Amazonía brasileña, donde tuvimos nuestra segunda reunión presencial de 2023, de miembros del Foro Pan-Amazónico de Ciudades (FCPA), así como secretarios y secretárias de Medio Ambiente participantes del Foro CB27, municipios asociados a ICLEI y socios estratégicos para debatir los desafíos actuales de los territorios amazónicos. Este proyecto fue desarrollado en colaboración con nuestros socios ICLEI Colombia, ICLEI América do SUL y la ciudad de Porto Velho, ubicada en el estado de Rondônia en Brasil. Luego participamos del 2º Encuentro Regional ICLEI Amazonia, que tuvo lugar simultáneamente con el Foro de Sostenibilidad de Porto Velho.

2nd Face-to-Face Meeting - Latin American Network of Environmental Security

San Andrés, Colombia

The second face-to-face meeting of the Latin American Environmental Security Network took place on September 11, 12 and 13, 2023 in San Andres, Colombia, and was organized by the Regional Program on Energy Security and Climate Change in Latin America (EKLA) of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and expand the Network's knowledge on environmental security issues in the Caribbean region, in addition to fostering exchanges and debates among participants with presentations of their research on governance and environmental security in Latin America, research that will become a book later this year.
