Energy security in Latin America up to 2015: Political, economical, and environmental aspects

The workshop held at Escuela de Ingeniería y Arquitectura – ESIA (School of Engineering and Architecture) in Mexico City (Mexico) had as main purpose to get an overview of the energy security in Latin America from the experts’ perspective and to encourage the energy debate with the geopolitical changes in the region.

ENERGY TRANSITION IN GERMANY

The breakfast meeting “Energy transition in Germany” took place at Hilton Hotel, Miraflores, in presence of representatives of the Ministry of Environment (MINAM), consultants and executives from private renewable energy companies. It was held by Mr. Albrecht Tiedemann, Director of the Air and Energy Department of RENAC AG.

geopolitical and climate challenges

On the 1st and 2nd of June, 2015, in Brasilia, was held the conference "Regional Energy Integration: geopolitical and climate challenges" in collaboration among the Regional Programme of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation on Energy Security and Climate Change in Latin America (EKLA-KAS) and the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI), with the support of the Asociación Civil de Estudios Populares (ACEP). Follow here the main discussions carried on by representatives from nine countries in the region.

CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE

CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES IN THE CITIES OF LATIN AMERICA

Environmental managers from different cities of Peru , Chile , Brazil and Mexico met on May 27 to share their experiences on adaptation and climate change mitigation with other municipalities, NGOs , companies and representatives of various ministries of Peru . This conference was possible thanks to the organization of the Regional Programme EKLA -KAS , INICAM , CDP , with the support of A2G Climate Partners.
