Sustainability in the Atacama Region:
a future that comprises three countries
In 2014, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Asociación Civil de Estudios Populares organized a series of seminars in order to discuss new challenges of local policies for sustainable human development. The cycle was attended by leading political actors and experts from the three countries comprising the Atacama-Lipez region, Argentina, Bolivia and Chile. This publication is dedicated to providing the general public with information on the main discussions of the seminar series Atacama-Lipez and to expand the scope of the debate.

Gelänge es in Paris ein Abkommen zu verabschieden, das glaubhaft den Herausforderungen des Klimawandels entgegentritt, dann würden viele lateinamerikanische Staaten vermutlich auch ernsthaft daran mitwirken und weiteres freiwilliges Engagement aufbringen.

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V. achieved excellent results in the latest edition of the “Global Go To Think Tank Index of 2014”, published by the University of Pennsylvania. The Foundation made first place in the category “Best Think Tank Network” and as in previous years, the KAS is among the top ten think tanks in Western Europe.

Seizing opportunities for collaboration between cities and business for sustainable economies
CDP Latin America
This study examines responses to an annual survey on climate change from 46 city governments in Latin America. The results show that climate change poses significant risks to cities in Latin America, and especially to the businesses that operate within them. The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung supports this study, written by CDP, aiming to facilitate the access to information.
