Accomplishing the series of events on climate change and cities in the Pacific Alliance, on March 8 and 9 the ‘International Forum on Climate Change: What is our role?’ was held in the city Santiago de Cali, Colombia. Authorities of the municipality of Cali, panelists, representatives of Colombian cities and the public in general participated in the event.

United Nations Biodiversity Conference

COP 13 - Cancun, Mexico 2016

The project managers of EKLA-KAS, Giovanni Burga, Karina Marzano and María Fernanda Pineda, participated at COP 13, held in Cancun, Mexico, under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). We share a report on the main activities and outcomes of this conference, as well as information on how the CBD integrates the existing system of multilateral environmental agreements.

Within the framework of COP 12, of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in Cancun, Mexico, we have organized a working breakfast to present the study: "Analysis of the impact and process in the implementation of biodiversity policies, strategies, plans and programs in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia and Peru”, developed by the Peruvian Society of Environmental Law (SPDA - for its name in Spanish)

Workshop and Study Launch

A workshop was organized by EKLA-KAS and GVces in São Paulo to debate with experts the results of a study on the Panorama of Renewable Energy: the Industrial Sector in Latin America.

Conversations on climate change between journalists and Latin American experts

Through group sessions of interviews with senior experts, Latin American journalists representing 9 countries debated crucial issues on climate change and their media coverage in the region.

Analysis on Sustainable Development and Energy Matrix in Latin America

International Seminar

Between November 7 and 9, 2016, EKLA-KAS and CEDIN held an international seminar in Belo Horizonte to discuss the normative and institutional aspects of access to clean energy and the impact of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in human development. Renowned professors, technical professionals and researchers from international organizations and Latin American countries, mainly Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Mexico participated in the seminar.
