Face-to-face week

From June 14 to 18, the long-awaited meeting between students and teachers of the diploma course was held, which in its first part was virtual. This intense week of work and fellowship was held in Bogotá and Medellín.

The KAS Regional Program for Energy Security and Climate Change in Latin America (EKLA) seeks to promote the circular economy as an instrument for sustainable development. The circular economy is a response that requires the support of political leaders and all actors to put the issue on the agenda and help make it a reality.

Public Health and Climate Change Workshop

Report

The objective of the workshop (May 16 and 17) was to train and encourage dialogue between participants and specialists from FAO, AIDA, the World Bank, UNAM and specialized consultants, along with politicians from Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala and Mexico dedicating 2 days to listen, learn, talk and debate about the importance, links, problems and possible solutions for the effects of climate change on the health of populations in LATAM.

Latin American Environmental Safety Network

In 2022 we continue to consolidate our Environmental Safety Network for Latin America. For this reason, we held our first event on April 24 through an online meeting.

Document release

Through this vision, it is intended to inspire governments, actors and society towards a common objective of sustainable economic development based on circularity.

EKLA partner meeting

The hybrid conference took place on November 29-30. EKLA KAS counterparts from various Latin American countries met in Lima, Peru to join an exchange space and discuss various topics such as the role of Latin America in COP26, the projects to be carried out in 2022 and the search for synergies between allies.

Resultados de la Consulta Latinoamericana de Salud Pública y Cambio Climático 2021

Evento público virtual realizado por EKLA-KAS y Pablo Necoechea, consultor de la ESG Academy de México

Se presentó los resultados de la encuesta en modalidad de línea cerrada y abierta a más mil personas de 20 países de la región con conclusiones alentadoras en la sensibilización del público, quienes percibieron el vínculo del clima y la salud, lo que puede ser tomado como aliciente para explorar soluciones políticas, empresariales y sociales con objetivos comunes en la población.

Festival de Economía Circular en América Latina

VAIVÉN 2021

La segunda edición del Festival de Economía Circular en América Latina se realizó del 21 al 23 de septiembre y contó con las ponencias de cerca de 40 expertos entre aliados, especialistas, investigadores y panelistas de diferentes organizaciones como el Centro Latinoamericano para las Relaciones con Europa (CELARE), ONUDI, PNUMA, FAO, la Cámara de Comercio e Industria Peruano Alemana, Sociedad Nacional de Industrias, el Centro Guatemalteco de Producción más Limpia, así como autoridades de instituciones gubernamentales de Argentina, Chile, Perú, CATIE, con la organización de KAS-EKLA, de la Coalición de Economía Circular de América Latina y el Caribe, y el PNUMA.
