Die Ergebnisse der achten Präsidentschafts- und Parlamentswahlen Ghanas sind knapp 48 Stunden nach Schließung der Wahllokale offiziell von der ghanaischen Wahlkommission verkündet worden: Der amtierende Präsident Akufo-Addo ist mit 51,59% der Stimmen wiedergewählt worden und wird in vier Wochen zum zweiten Mal zum Präsidenten Ghanas ernannt werden. NDC-Kandidat Mahama kam auf 47,36% der Stimmen. Allerdings hat die regierende NPP herbe Verluste bei den Parlamentswahlen erleiden müssen.

Some websites are using the logo of the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation without authorization.

Ein Jahr NPP-Regierung in Ghana – was die Ghanaer denken

In Kooperation mit der University of Ghana hat die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung eine Meinungsumfrage durchgeführt. 5.000 Ghanaer wurden befragt, wie sie u.a. die neue Regierung unter dem Präsidenten Nana Akufo-Addo nach einem Jahr an der Macht einschätzen. Dabei ging es unter anderem um Einschätzungen zur wirtschaftlichen Situation des Landes, um von der Regierung neu eingeführte Förderprogramme, aber auch um spezifische Fragen wie der Schaffung eines Special Prosecutor, der Einführung von vier neuen Regionen in Ghana oder der Rolle der Opposition.
