- To collaborate with the relevant agencies e.g. the security agents, electoral commission media, assemblies, traditional councils and religious bodies etc to educate our communities on the need for peaceful elections.
-To exact our neutrality in all our dealings in connections with the elections
-To advice political leaders to conduct their activities in a peaceful manner and avoid the use of “machomen” in their political campaigns. They should advice constantly their followers and supporters to be of good behaviour.
-To use several fora (traditional and formal) to educate the citizenry about peaceful conduct of campaigning and electioneering
-To show transparency in our activities with our people
-To show unity and harmony as well as peaceful co-existence and tolerance among our people.
-To be proactive in addressing conflict and tensions in our communities during the electioneering period
-To educate the youth to desist from engaging in negative acts that will foment trouble and create conflicts
-To use the airwaves to promote peace and unity being mindful of our utterances
-We also urge all political parties to abide by laws and regulations governing elections in this country and abide by their own accepted code of conducts
We, as Queenmothers and Traditional Women Leaders do pledge to pursue peace among ourselves in order to be able to preach peace to our subjects
Therefore, as MOTHERS of this country, we appeal to all and sundry to do everything humanly possible to leave the country in PEACE and not in PIECES, before, during and after election 2012, being mindful of the fact that we have only one nation – GHANA!!!
