Beyond "Absorption" - Foundation Office Greece and Cyprus
Book presentation
Details
The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung presents the printed version of the publication Beyond "Absorption": The Impact of EU Structural Funds on Greece. Responsible for editing this collective volume were Panagiotis Liargovas, Sotiris Petropoulos, Nikolaos Tzifakis and Asteris Huliaras.
With the accession to the European Community in 1981, Greece became a beneficiary of the EU cohesion policy: many sectors of the Greek economy and the public sector were funded substantially with funds from Brussels. However, this policy has largely failed to promote modernization and sustainable growth. The reasons for this and the challenges for the future of cohesion policy will be discussed.
