KAS is organizing a Journalism seminar focusing on Data Journalism. How can journalists extract value out of data? How can they find patterns hidden in plain sight? When should they distrust data? Which tools can they use?

The seminar is addressed to journalists and journalism students interested in data journalism.

Speakers:

Nicolas Kayser-Bril, data journalism pioneer

Nicolas specializes on data journalism. He has coordinated the Europe-wide project "Missing Migrants". Nicolas has a technical background but he always keeps the journalistc approach in his work. He has founded Journalism++ and currently lives in Berlin.

Dr. George Giannakopoulos, Researcher

George is working on design and implementation of technical tools and data projects. He is a lecturer at the University of Athens and researcher at the Demokritos Research Center.
