KAS Energy Security Fellowship

The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung is pleased to announce the first KAS Energy Security Fellowship, which is to be hosted at the European Centre for Energy and Resource Security (EUCERS) at King's College London. The fellowship will fund a research stay of 12-months for a European Union (EU) resident research fellow starting in September 2012. The topic of this year’s Fellowship is “The Arab Spring and its impact on supply and production in global markets”. For more information and to apply, please see the attached document.

Kommunalwahlen mit Botschaft an Westminster

Am 3. Mai fanden in vielen Distrikten Englands, einschließlich der Hauptstadt London, Schottlands und Wales Kommunalwahlen statt. Mit einigen Ausnahmen waren die Ergebnisse mehr vom Eindruck der Wähler über die Regierung Cameron geprägt als vom lokalen Geschehen.

Wahlen in London

Am 3. Mai 2012 finden in 128 Regierungsbezirken Englands Wahlen statt. Außerdem werden in Schottland und Wales am selben Tag Kommunalwahlen durchgeführt. Dabei werden in England nicht nur die Kommunalparlamente gewählt, sondern auch 3 der 15 direkt zu wählenden Bürgermeister – der Londoner Bürgermeister eingeschlossen. Vor allem dieser Wahl gilt das Interesse, da der Bürgermeister der mit fast 8 Millionen Einwohnern größten Stadt in Großbritannien erhebliches politisches Gewicht besitzt.
