FICCI Roundtable - Outlook for Global Economy in 2020 - Interplay of Geo-economics and Geo-politics

On 4th December, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and the India Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized a roundtable discussion on the interplay of geo-economics and geo-politics and its implication for the global economy. Several experts from India and Germany fostered a lively and fruitful discussion.

Report launch by CSDS and KAS India

On 13th November, the Centre for the Studies of Developing Societies and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s India office jointly launched their study on “Women and Politics: Changing Trends and Emerging Patterns”. The report comes at a time where female voter turnout is at an all-time-high in India’s election history and more women become vocal on political issues, even though the level of involvement differs widely, being affected by factors such as age, level of education, place of residence and political assertion.

3rd Chanakya Chakra Forum: Understanding China in the 21st Century

On 1st November the 3rd Chanakya Chakra roundtable discussion, a discussion forum on foreign and security policies, was held to discuss the implications of China’s rise and economic growth which lead to a shift in the global power system.

Discussion evening honouring the 100th birthday of Nani Palkhivala

The 9th Palkhivala Lecture, jointly hosted by Lex Consilium Foundation and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s India Office, revolved around competitive politics in India and whether dynasty and de-mocracy could co-exist. The event was held in honor and the celebration of the 100th birthday of late Nani Palkhivala, who was a highly appreciated and influential Indian economist and lawyer.

China's digitale Seidenstraße: Implikationen für Indien

Das Auslandsbüro Indien der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung und das Institute of Chinese Studies veranstalteten am 25. September eine gemeinsame Konferenz im India International Centre, die sich den Auswirkungen Chinas digitaler Seidenstraßen widmete. Combating Misinformation and Fake News- Workshop organized by WAN-IFRA and KAS

The South Asian chapter of the World Association of Newspapers and Newspublishers together with the India office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized a two-day workshop on the possibilities of tackling fake news and misinformation. The workshop was led by the co-founder of Alt News, Pratik Sinha.

2nd Chanakya Chakra Roundtable analyzes Impending Developments in Afghanistan

The second roundtable discussion organized by the Forum for Strategic Initiatives and the KAS India Office along with CENJOWS, CLAWS, CAPS, KIF and NMF, shifted its focus from an inherent Indian issue in the last meeting, towards an issue that attracts regional and global attention. Afghanistan, a state that has been in a challenging and difficult position for years, was the focal point as the situation there has regional and global implications.

Global Dialogue Security Summit 2019

On the 9th and 10th of August 2019, the KAS Office India along with Global Dialogue Review (GDR), a foreign policy journal and other partners organized the second Global Dialogue Security Summit titled “India and the New Multilateral World Order”.

Chanakya Chakra- Diplomatic and Strategic Choices for a New India

“Diplomatic and Strategic Choices for a New India” was the topic of the first Chanakya Chakra meeting, a newly launched consortium of leading Indian ThinkTanks which include CENJOWS, CLAWS, CAPS, KIF, NMF, the Forum for Strategic Initiatives and the India office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. Aim of the initiative is the establishment of a monthly forum on foreign and security policies that brings together a diverse group of Indian strategic experts.
