From June 17th till 24th, 2018, a delegation of judges from the Supreme Court of India and Indian legal experts visited Berlin, Leipzig, Karlsruhe and Strasbourg for a study and dialogue program.

Indo-German Security Dialogue

From June 24th to 30th, 2018, a delegation of Indian experts from the India Foundation and politicians focused on the fields of foreign and security policy visited Brussels and Berlin to have a dialogue on foreign and security related topics.

The 2018 International Summer School of KAS on Political Communication brought together 19 young politicians from 16 countries for a week in Berlin on 8th till 13th July. After two days of intensive workshops on the topics of media and politics as well as digital campaigning, the participants got to know the political Berlin. Global Dialogue Security Summit

Securing India’s Neighbourhood

The Global Dialogue Review (GDR), which publishes a foreign policy journal, and the India office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized a conference titled "Global Dialogue Security Summit: Securing India's Neighbourhood" from 13th-14th July, 2018, in New Delhi. The various sessions discussed over two days the impact of technology on defence strategies, the changing nature of warfare, security challenges in the Indo Pacific Region, overcoming the threat of global terrorism, developing a home grown defence industry and the promotion of India’s private sector in defence manufacturing.

India and Security Challenges in the Indo-Pacfic in the new era

2nd KAS-FSI-CLAWS Seminar about India’s security challenges in the Indo-Pacific

On 12th and 13th July 2018, the Forum for Strategic Initiative (FSI) and the India office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in collaboration with the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS) organized a seminar on “India and Security Challenges in the Indo-Pacific in the new Era”. The seminar reviewed the recent developments in the Indo-Pacific region affecting strategic developments, which included issues of denuclearization in Korean Peninsula, the South China Sea build up, perceptions of threats and challenges, future of ASEAN and Indian security concerns.

Author's Workshop for upcoming Study on Armed Conflicts and Peace Processes

"Peace and Conflict: An International Primer"

On the 9th and 10th of July the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) and the India Office of Konrad-Adenauer-Siftung in collaboration with Stella Maris College organized an author's workshop for the upcoming study on “Global Armed Conflict and Peace Processes: A Global Primer”, which will be published in 2019.

Challenges for India’s Security Policy

India is steadily gathering momentum and its global political significance is increasing rapidly. However, changes in the neighborhood are confronting the country with new challenges. In addition, with the national elections of the first chamber of the Indian Parliament, the Lok Sabha, in 2019 a landmark event for India is coming up. At a breakfast discussion in Berlin, experts from India and Germany discussed the situation, with the background of the upcoming parliamentary elections and current developments in the area of foreign and security policy.

First NIAS-KAS Peace Lecture

On July 9 2018, the National Institute for Advanced Studies (NIAS) and the India Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized the first peace lecture on "Sustain Peace: Regional Experiences" as part of the NIAS-KAS Peace Lecture Series at Stella Maris College in Chennai.
