PHDCCI-KAS Conference on Clean Energy and Sustainable Development

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an apex chamber of the country, in collaboration with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organised a conference on Clean Energy and Sustainable Development for Sikkim on 13 June, 2019 in Gangtok, Sikkim. On the panel, the eminent speakers were from industry, financial institutions, officials of central and state governments, policy implementors including chief guest Dr. K. Jayakumar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, and Head, Department of Science & Technology and Climate Change, Government of Sikkim. The conference was attended by over 100 delegates from start-ups, thought leaders and MSMEs of Sikkim.

Within the framework of Dr. Klaus Schüler’s visit to India, a roundtable with young politicians about election strategies, social media and financing took place in New Delhi on Wednesday, April 17. Dr. Klaus Schüler is a political strategist of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in Germany and has organized the federal election campaigns in 2009, 2013 and 2017.

The fifth edition of the FICCI-KAS Dialogue Series on the evening of the 16th April featured the topic “Liberal Democracies-Challenges Ahead”. A selected group of experts spoke upon the current threats that democracies all over the world are facing equally. Next to the Indian perspective that was provided by Indian politicians, scientists, journalists and former bureaucrats, another German angle could be added through the participation of Dr. Jasper Wieck, Deputy Head and Charge d´Affairs of the German Mission to India, and Dr. Klaus Schüler , Federal Secretary of the German Christian Democratic Union (CDU), as the Keynote Speaker.

Fifth Resource Dialogue on India's Maritime Security Strategy

The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) and the India office of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) jointly organized a conference from 9th to 11th March 2019 on “The Emerging Global Maritime Order- India’s Strategy” focused towards an ever-changing global maritime order and India’s role in the Indo-Pacific, being one of the most powerful states in the Indo-Pacific littoral. The conference is the fifth of its kind in a series titled “Resource Dialogues”, a concept developed by TERI and KAS which addresses the need for an energy change in a time where increasing resource scarcity, global warming and a growing need for power endanger Indian energy security. This event was organized in association with the Madras Management Organization (MMA).

India's Global Search for Energy: JNU, TERI and KAS organize joint conference

An International Conference “India's Global Search for Energy” organized by two Departments of New Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University in collaboration with The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI), the African Studies Association of India (ASA), the Indian Council of Social Science Research and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung was held on the 22rd and 23rd of February in New Delhi and focused on India's current state of energy supply and prospects of future possibilities.
