India and the New Multilateral World Order: The Global Dialogue Security Summit
On the 9th and 10th of August, the Global Dialogue Forum in collaboration with the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation, the Global Dialogue Review and the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies will organize the “Global Dialogue Security Summit” in New Delhi. The two-day conference on “India and the New Multilateral Order” welcomes a wide-range of highly renowned experts from various countries like the US, China, Indonesia, Russia, Germany and Bangladesh, and aims at stimulating an early debate on the policies and direction of a newly-elected government in India in projecting its influence in the neighborhood and beyond.

Diplomatic and Strategic Choices for a New India
On July 31st 2019 Chanakya Chakra, along with the Forum for Strategic Initiatives and the India office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung will hold a closed door Round Table discussion, “Diplomatic and Strategic Choices for a New India” in New Delhi. This Round Table will cover contemporary pressing issues such as the retreat of multilateralism, giving way to rising authoritarianism throughout the world, technological developments in the fields of warfare and artificial intelligence and the impacts these could have on populations, economic conflicts and global shifts in power. What role should India play in these evolving global framework, a country which itself is experiencing many developments and which is playing an ever- increasingly important role in global affairs, will also be explored.

Clean Energy and Sustainable Development in Sikkim
On 13th of June, the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) and India Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) will jointly organize a conference on “Clean Energy and Sustainable Development in Sikkim” in Gangtok, Sikkim. The Conference will pursue the ongoing discussion process with regard to the adaptation of Renewable Energies for sustainable and climate-friendly development of Sikkim

CSDS and KAS report launch on „Social Media and Political Opinions/Attitudes“
On the evening of the 11th June, the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) India will launch a report on “Social Media and Political Opinions/Attitudes” which is based on a nationwide empirical survey based study that aims at exploring various aspects of the relationship between social media and political opinions/attitudes. The report also comprises an analysis of the impact of social media on voting behaviour in the 2019 Lok Sabha Election. The study has been conducted by the Lokniti-Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), a Social Science Research Institute based in Delhi in collaboration with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), India Durchgeführt wurde die Studie vom CSDS, einem im Delhi ansässigen soziawissenschaftlichen Forschungsinstitut, in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Auslandsbüro der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Indien.

Indo-German Journalism Academy
KAS facilitates exchange between aspiring journalists from two continents
The training of young journalists represents one of the five main pillars of KAS´ work in India. For years now, the students of the Statesman Print Journalism School (SPJS), funded by the CR Irani Foundation, an institutional partner of the KAS India office, have been successfully trained in becoming part of India´s media sector by strengthening the role of democracy and the freedom of press. Between 3rd and 12th of May 2019, the SPJS students will work on a magazine which will deal with the topics of “Environmental Challenges in Bengal - The Cases of Sunderbans and East Kolkata Wetlands” together with students who are part of KAS´highly regarded German Journalism School JONA (Journalistische Nachwuchsförderung der KAS) who will travel to Kolkata and West Bengal for this purpose.

Indo-German Party Cooperation: Federal Managing Director of the CDU visits India
Dr. Klaus Schüler visits India during the general elections 2019
In line with the program of the Indo-German Party Cooperation, Dr. Klaus Schüler, managing director of the federal chapter of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), will visit India between the 12th and 19th of April. During his visit he will meet partners of the KAS, party representatives of the INC and BJP and take part in election rallies in the cities of Bangalore, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and New Delhi.

The Emerging Global Maritime Order - India’s Strategy
TERI-KAS Resource Dialogue V in association with the Madras Management Association (MMA)
The conference aims to understand the global maritime concerns in the context of the non-traditional security threats, specifically climate change, environmental degradation, biodiversity and increasing human activity at the high seas. The focus lies on linking the major non-traditional security concerns that impact traditional security domains and the related foreign and economic policy frameworks.

Forum for Strategic Initiatives (FSI) and Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) jointly organize a Round Table Discussion to examine challenges and options in countering terrorism.
Terrorism poses a serious threat to freedom and democracy in every region of this world. In order to prevent attacks and conflicts involving nuclear powers, it has to be tackled at its source. The Round Table will discuss challenges and options as well as open up about possibilities of reactions and the role of multilateral platforms.
International Conference on India's Global Search for Energy
A two day international conference will bring together experts from a diverse background including academia, policy making, business and industry and policy research. The conference will focus on India’s worldwide search for energy security in the changing dynamics of global energy geopolitics. The event is commonly organized by the Centre for African Studies and Energy Studies Programme of the School of International Studies, JNU, in collaboration with TERI, the African Studies Association of India and KAS.
