In Israel wurde die „Arab Spring“-Nahostreise des türkischen Ministerpräsidenten Recep Tayyip Erdogan nach Ägypten, Tunesien und Libyen aufmerksam beobachtet. Am Mittwoch, den 14. September titelte „Haaretz“ auf der ersten Seite: „Erdogan in Kairo: Israels Aggression gefährdet die Zukunft seiner Bürger“, und bei der „Jerusalem Post“ lautete die Schlagzeile ganz ähnlich: „Erdogan in Kairo: Israel untergräbt seine eigene Legitimität“. Es fällt auf, dass die Kommentare in der israelischen Presse gleichwohl spärlich gesät waren.

Ambassador Baker is Director of the Institute for Contemporary Affairs at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs and one of Israel’s leading experts on international law.
