Schockstarre versus Euphorie

Israel hat gewählt. Auch die erfahrensten Analysten haben das Ergebnis der Knessetwahl am 17. März 2015 so nicht vorhergesehen. Dass der amtierende Ministerpräsident Benjamin Netanjahu (Likud) die nächste Regierung bilden würde, galt zwar vielen als sicher. Dass er jedoch einen haushohen Wahlsieg einfahren würde und damit in der Lage ist, eine klare „rechte“ Regierung zu bilden, hätte kaum jemand erwartet – letzte Umfragen sagten vor der Wahl einen klaren Wahlsieg der Zionistischen Union um Jitzchak Herzog voraus.

Nach den ersten Hochrechnungen sah es nach einem Patt aus zwischen Benjamin Netanjahu und seinem Herausforderer Issac Herzog. Am Ende konnte Netanjahus Likud jedoch wider Erwarten einen sehr deutlichen Sieg einfahren. Über Ursachen und Aussichten sprach Dr. Michael Borchard, Leiter des Israel-Büros der Adenauer-Stiftung, im Interview mit MDR Info.

55 years since the first meeting

Exactly 55 years ago David Ben-Gurion and Konrad Adenauer held their first historic meeting in the Waldorf Astoria in New York and thereby led the cornerstone for what we are commemorating this year: The 50th anniversary of the establishment of German-Israeli diplomatic relations. On this occasion we brought together the grandsons of these two important leaders, Dr. Yariv Ben-Eliezer and Dr. Patrick Adenauer, who exchanged their views and expressed their wish for a further strengthening of the relations between the two peoples.

הגיליון רואה אור ערב הבחירות לכנסת ה- 20. המאמרים והנתונים המופיעים בגיליון זה מוקדשים לדיון בהיערכות הציבור הערבי לקראת הבחירות. במוקד העניין ברחוב הערבי ניצבת הקמת הרשימה המשותפת למפלגות העיקריות המייצגות בכנסת את הציבור הערבי בישראל: חד"ש, בל"ד, רע"מ ותע"ל. סקרי דעת קהל מנבאים כי הרשימה המשותפת תזכה ב- 12 עד 13 מושבים בכנסת. בין אם תתגשם תחזית זו ובין אם לאו, הרטוריקה של חברי הרשימה המשותפת משדרת ביטחון רב ביכולתם של חברי הכנסת הערבים, לראשונה בהיסטוריה, להיות לגורם פוליטי חשוב שלא ניתן עוד להתעלם ממנו.
