A public opinion poll compiled by Dr. Sharon Pardo, Jean Monnet Chair in European Studies at Ben-Gurion University, and published in mid-July 2011 yielded a number of notable results about current Israeli perceptions of Europe and European leaders.

These are the results of the most recent poll conducted jointly by the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research in Ramallah. This joint survey was conducted with the support of the Ford Foundation Cairo office and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Ramallah and Jerusalem.

Solidarity with Gilad Shalit and his Family

Five years ago, the Israeli Soldier Gilad Shalit, at that time 19 years old, was abducted by militant Palestinian groups. Since then, he has been kept in captivity by Hamas who disregard basic rules of humanity also in this case. They prevent any communication of the victim with his family, and not even the Red Cross is granted access to him. The last sign of life was delivered to Israeli authorities at the end of 2009.
