Shared Life on Campus? - Foundation Office Israel
Symposium
Details
According to figures for the 2018/17 academic year, there are some 3,000 Arab students registered at Tel Aviv University comprising about 14.5% of the total number of registered students. These figures represent a significant increase compared to the beginning of this decade. This trend is representative of a general increase in the number of Arab students at institutions of higher education in Israel. This state of affairs raises several questions: How do Arab students characterize their studying and living experience on campus? What factors influence the shaping of young Arabs' worldview during their period of study? What are the main difficulties that Arab students face during their studies? What avenues for cooperation and shared life between Arab and Jewish students exist on the campus?
