Project Citizenship

KAS Jordan and Jordanian Center for Civic Education (JCCE) jointly organized an Exhibition on Citizenship for 19 projects done by governmental school students. Students displayed their selected projects on local community problems, based on what they have learned during the year on responsible citizenship and active participation in policies; a list of the projects along with a short description can be read in the report.

Jordan’s Economic Outlook 2015 - Determinants of Economic Reform

On 28 January KAS Jordan Office in cooperation with ISSNAAD Consulting held a workshop with economic experts to discuss a report on “Jordan’s Economic Outlook 2015-Determinants of Economic Reform”. The report was issued by Issnaad Consulting and is one of a series of economic reports that will be issued in the year 2015 in cooperation with KAS. It reviews Jordan`s economic development as well as the regional and global economic development and its challenges.

ENHANCING YOUTH POLITICAL PARTICIPATION IN JORDAN

The Jordan Office of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) organized in collabora-tion with Mossawah Center for Civil Society Development a roundtable discussion in Al-Mafraq and Al-Zarqa on enhancing youth’s political partici-pation in Jordan. The two-day event, held in December 11 and December 14, 2014, brought together students, young men and women, activists and journalists.

PROMOTING KNOWLEDGE OF THE CONCEPTS OF HUMAN RIGHTS

In August and September 2014, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Jordan Office organized six two-day training workshops in cooperation with The Reference for Development and Training Foundation (RDTF) in six different governorates of Jordan to train the youth on human rights. The training sessions took place in Ma’an, Tafila, Karak, Irbid, Ajloun and Mafraq.

Scenarios for state relationships between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and a future Palestinian State

On November 20th 2014 the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Jordan Office in cooperation with the Amman Center for Peace and Development organized a workshop where Jordanian and Palestinian experts discussed scenarios for state relationships between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and a future Palestinian State.

Studien- und Dialogprogramm für Vertreterinnen der WEO aus Erbil / Region Kurdistan-Irak

Auf Einladung der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung sind derzeit Frauenrechtsaktivistinnen und Vertreterinnen aus dem Bereich der Justiz und kurdische Politikerinnen aus dem Umfeld der WEO aus Erbil / Region Kurdisatn-Irak zu Gast in Düsseldorf und Berlin. Das Programm wurde vom Team Inlandsprogramme organisiert und von Herrn Dr. Otmar Oehring, Leiter des Auslandsbüros Jordanien, begleitet.

“Violence at Jordanian Universities: Reasons and Solutions”

Jordan has recently witnessed a growing number of violent conflicts among its youth. To prevent a spiral of violence, trigger and causes of the increasing phenomena of violence must be identified. Therefore, KAS Jordan Office organized in cooperation with Scoopat the seminar “Violence at Jordanian Universities: Reasons and Solutions” on the 19th of June 2014 in Mafraq to develop strategies and measures to prevent a further progress of violence.
