Towards Next Generation Leaders on Security, Disarmament and Non-Proliferation of CBRN

The Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation and The Arab Institute for Security Studies (ACSIS) are pleased to announce the launch of the second cycle of its Next Generation Competition. The competition aims to facilitate the engagement and contribution of youth (with a focus on female young professionals) in the fields of security, arms control and strategic issues. The competition intends to empower a next generation of leaders capable of positively contributing to the security and non-proliferation debate.

Jordan-EU Dialogue on Human Security:Refugees and Forced Migrants in Focus

The Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation and the West Asia-North Africa Institute (WANA) are organising a series of workshops which aim to support young Jordanian experts and professionals from diverse backgrounds to produce public policy papers on different subjects. In the end of the workshop series, the participants are given an opportunity and platform to present their policy papers to Jordanian and international stakeholder, including EU and government representatives and at the same time highlight important issues to them related to refugees and forced migration in the EU and West Asia-North Africa region.

How Do Jordanian Political Parties Read The King`s Discussion Papers?

The first workshop of the " Nisan Center Forum for Policy Dialogue", a program supported by Konrad Adenauer Foundation was held on the 12.04.2015 in Amman - Jerusalem International Hotel with the participation of about 60 people, as well as representatives of the Jordanian chambers of parliament and political parties from all directions and a number of press, media and the official Jordanian television, In addition to representatives from some research centers and civil society organizations.

Christians and the Arab Spring -2

KAS Jordan office in cooperation with AlQuds Center for Political Studies organized a conference entitled “Christians and the Arab Spring” in which Christian figures from many Arab countries participated. The report enclosed the important discussions and opinions of the participants regarding the challenges Christians face in the aftermath of the Arab Spring, by the end of the conference the participants issued a declaration which included recommendations for the governments and the concerned parties.

Project Citizenship

KAS Jordan and Jordanian Center for Civic Education (JCCE) jointly organized an Exhibition on Citizenship for 19 projects done by governmental school students. Students displayed their selected projects on local community problems, based on what they have learned during the year on responsible citizenship and active participation in policies; a list of the projects along with a short description can be read in the report.

Jordan’s Economic Outlook 2015 - Determinants of Economic Reform

On 28 January KAS Jordan Office in cooperation with ISSNAAD Consulting held a workshop with economic experts to discuss a report on “Jordan’s Economic Outlook 2015-Determinants of Economic Reform”. The report was issued by Issnaad Consulting and is one of a series of economic reports that will be issued in the year 2015 in cooperation with KAS. It reviews Jordan`s economic development as well as the regional and global economic development and its challenges.

ENHANCING YOUTH POLITICAL PARTICIPATION IN JORDAN
