After a two-months participatory drafting process, the Waste Statute is now at the important stage of being revised by the City Councilors, the Governor as well as other stakeholders. In this light a long process of researching, data interpretation, landfill visits, technical working group meetings and detailed discussions on key elements of the Waste Statute comes slowly but surely to an end. To discuss further steps and the materialization of the Waste Statute there will be a Next Step Discussion workshop in Battambang on the 7th of April.

At this event all involved stakeholders will come together and share ideas and thoughts on the result, namely the Waste Statute, and on possible next steps. The results will be used to foster and kick of the implementation phase. As part of the decentralization process in Cambodia, KAS puts emphasis on the inclusiveness and participation of all key actors on the local level.
