Details

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated changes triggered by generational shifts, new technologies, new working cultures, and digital enhancement in our daily workspaces. Typical formats of meetings, events, and gatherings are now forced into digital ones following new ways of organizing tasks. This digital book launch is an example of them.

While digitalization is integrated into the new way of work, at the same time, there is a demand to make the future of work more human. The International Labor Organization demands a human-centered agenda for the future of work, increased investments in people's capabilities, and in decent and sustainable work, including lifelong learning as well as social protection.

Digital Insights - Future of Work is a collaborative publication project jointly implemented by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Cambodia and EuroCham Cambodia. This 4th edition of Digital Insights gathers pieces of research and opinions of different authors from diverse backgrounds, including government and private sector as well as civil society in Cambodia. These diverse backgrounds enrich the reflection and inclusiveness of the publication in the Cambodian working context. The publication touches upon many contents, covering the future workplace, industry disruption, labor market, and of course, governance.

Together with Spear Insights, a wonderful field study has been successfully conducted on Transforming the Workplace for Cambodia’s Young White-Collar Workers, that as of 2020, covered approximately 20% of Cambodia’s workforce, serving as an additional edition to this year's Digital Insights. These primary data findings cover various aspects, including job complexity, job mobility, workplace values, remuneration and benefits, personal growth and training, work-life balance, work environment, technology, and many more.

After all of these hard works, thanks to authors, editors, and a team of researchers, for now, we have got a lot of things to discuss. We are proudly thrilled to bring to you all the digital book launch event and live panel discussion under the theme of The Future of Work: Preparing Cambodia’s Workforce for the Digital Age

The event will happen digitally on Zoom and Facebook Livestream on Friday, October 22, 2021, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Join our wonderful event by getting yourself registered here!
