International law and its implications on national law in Cambodia

Between the 15th and the 17th of March Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation (KAS) conducts in cooperation with Jörg Menzel, Law Professor at the University of Bonn, the 8th Law Talk.

The focus lies on ‘International law and its implications on national law in Cambodia’. The strengthening of the legal system is the focal point of KAS’s work in Cambodia. As legal discourse is still not fully developed, but essential to reinforce the legal system, the law talk intends to initiate a flourishing debate on legal topics and contribute to the emergence of a culture of open and free discussion. Legal experts will give an introduction to principles of international and regional law and its relationship to national law as well as their application in Cambodia. Furthermore, students, members of the National Assembly and NGOs, government representatives and officials from state institutions will present and discuss Cambodia’s challenges, prospects and opportunities regarding the effective application of international law.
