The half-day discussion takes place within a continuous effort by KAS to discuss potential amendments of the internal rules of the Cambodian Parliament and Senate.

The main focus of the meeting will be on the role, organization and work of Parliamentary Groups (PG). More precisely, the participants will discuss the function, rights and responsibilities of key actors of PGs, such as the Minority and Majority Group Leaders, the Chief Whips and the Chairmen of PGs as well as the role of the PGs’ thematic Working Groups. Furthermore the dialogue will focus on the internal organization and the PGs’ budget.

To assist the event with their context-related expertise and enhance the effectiveness of PGs in Cambodia two Senior Legal Advisors from Germany will provide their input and support.
