On 16th November, the National Committee of Subnational Democratic Development (NCDD) and the Ministry of Environment in cooperation with KAS organize a Dissemination Workshop to introduce the new sub-decree on solid waste management.

Over the last two years, KAS worked extensively with the relevant stakeholders at the national and subnational level to improve the quality of the new national legal framework, which promotes the transfer of the function of solid waste management in urban areas to the Municipal/District Level.

The presentation of the sub-decree is a first important step for the government to promote local autonomy and local ownership to organize, manage and finance waste management activities.
