The promotion of effective communication between government institutions and the media has been actively supported by KAS in order to strengthen political dialogue and communication skills towards the public. Within recent years KAS has been involved in capacity building efforts to train and improve the performance of spokespersons to assure effective and credible information sharing in Cambodia.

Within this framework a Workshop is held to promote parliamentary communication between the Parliament and the Media. It is closely related to the Workshop and Simulation on "How to Work Effectively as a Spokesperson" held earlier this week. During this half-day event Cambodian government officials will discuss the role and responsibilities of spokespersons and deeply engage with the importance of regular information sharing between institutions and the public.

In the long run such efforts will lead to a more satisfactory level of trust between officials and the media and contribute to more transparency.
