Von Nairobi nach Den Haag: Was bringt der Prozess vor dem IStGH Kenia?

„Für die Opfer“. So lautete die Überschrift eines Artikels in der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung vom 22. Juli 2011 über die Bedeutung internationaler Strafgerichtsbarkeit. Während der Unruhen in Kenia nach den Wahlen 2007 wurden mindestens 1.133 Menschen getötet und 350.000 Menschen aus ihrer Heimat vertrieben. Nachdem eine innerstaatliche strafrechtliche Aufarbeitung in Kenia nicht zustande kam, beschäftigt sich seit dem letzten Jahr der Internationale Strafgerichtshof in zwei Verfahren mit den sechs Hauptverdächtigen der Gewaltausbrüche.
