Details

During the just concluded elections, the issue of land ownership was treated as a campaign agenda by the leading contestants. Promises were made and theories were expounded during the presidential debates organized by the Kenya media fraternity. Some of the contestants were accused of being unable to attain their promises due to their interest in the land question. The constitution is very clear on the land question.

This workshop is aimed at trying to explain the constitutional stand on land acquisition and how the public can go about on issues relating to land ownership. The choice of the venue for this workshop is due to the fact that land was used previously as a campaign agenda with serious repercussions, though the residents do not have land issues, it’s very important for them to understand what the constitution says and how to handle future challenges.
