Devolved funds and Youth Empowerment Forum - Foundation Office Kenya
Workshop
Details
With the current state of affairs, devolved funds have not been vividly put in the public domain since most Kenyans are directing their attention to the promises made during the campaigns and the fact that county Governments are semi autonomous. The power balance between the county and the national is vertically and horizontally.
Vertically, they consult on matters of National importance. Horizontally, they respects the principal of Subsidiarity, that is, what the county Government can do, it must be left to do to the level of its capacity.
It is in these aspects that the residents have to be able to draw the line between the funds at the National and County government and their responsibilities in ensuring the proper use of such funds.
Since the youth tend to be the main focus in this two levels of governance, this workshop is aimed at bringing in the Youth Enterprise Funds and the players who are particularly the Government through the department of youth. In this meeting, we have managed to invite a Youth officer to speak on this aspect and guide those in attendance on how to take advantage of the fund.
