Alumni Meeting of the Political Academy PLUS

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized together with the Croatian Statehood Foundation (ZHDZ) on the island of Čiovo an Alumni meeting for the participants of the Political Academy PLUS from July 2nd to 4th, 2021. In the presence of MEP Karlo Ressler, the member of the Croatian parliament, Nikola Mažar, the former member of the Croatian parliament, Sanja Putica, other HDZ members and representatives of Croatian universities, the participants discussed in numerous panel discussions the new political movements and their influence on the political landscape of Croatia, the Christian democracy of today and its response to the increasing left and right populism, the political generation change and the importance of political communication and the dangers of media manipulation.

Handover of certificates to young politicians of the HDZ

In the presence of the president of the HDZ and Croatian Prime Minister, Andrej Plenković and the HDZ general secretary, Krunoslav Katačić as well as other representatives of the party leadership, numerous ministers from his cabinet and the Croatian Statehood Foundation (ZHDZ), certificates were handover to graduates od the 13th generation of the Political Academy for their successfull participation in this year's political program for the education of young politicians on June 16th, 2021 in Zagreb.

Building a fundraising culture in Croatia

On June 10th, 2021, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the Croatian County Association organized a hybrid conference on "Building a fundraising culture in Croatia" as part of the "Yellow Dot" project. The conference aims to help build a successful fundraising culture in Croatia, to improve the level of knowledge about fundraising in society, to promote the exchange of experiences on good fundraising practices and to establish a fundraising profession as one of the key functions in any non-profit organization.

With our experts Stribor Kikerec from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia and Iztok Mirošič from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, we discussed the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Forgiveness and Reconciliation from the Perspective of Croatian War Veterans

In cooperation with the Faculty of Croatian Studies of the University of Zagreb and the Croatian Catholic University, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized on May 19th, 2020 in Zagreb a presentation of the research study on "Quality of Interpersonal and Interethnic Relationships". Together with the State Secretary at the Ministry of Croatian Veterans, Špiro Janović, PhD, clinical psychologist Lovorka Brajković, PhD, former Assistant Minister of Reconstruction and demography expert Stjepan Šterc, PhD and sociologist Prof. Ivan Balabanić, PhD, we talked about the needs and attitudes of Croatian veterans towards forgiveness and reconciliation between Croats and the Serbian national minority in the Republic of Croatia.

Forgiveness and Reconciliation as the Foundation of Coexistence

Forgiveness and reconciliation as the foundation of coexistence In cooperation with the Franciscan Institute for the Culture of Peace, the Faculty of Croatian Studies of the University of Zagreb and the Croatian Catholic University, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized on Mai 12th, 2020 in Zagreb a presentation and introduction of the research study on "Quality of Interpersonal and Interethnic Relationships", within the scope a a special focus was placed on the coexistence between Croats and the Serbian national minority as well as the need for reconciliation after the war in Croatia. The first phase of the study was carried out in 2000 and the second in 2019. Therefore, the study shows changes that have taken place 20 years later.

New Normal in Entrepreneurship

B2B meetings of Croatian women entrepreneurs

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized together with the Women's Entrepreneurship Centre on Mai 11th in Gospić the first B2B meeting of Croatian women entrepreneurs on "New Normal in Entrepreneurship" in 2021. In the presence of the mayor of the city of Gospić, Karlo Starčević, and the director of the Women's Entrepreneurship Centre, Zrinka Peharec, Holger Haibach emphasized that despite the Corona crisis, they continue to work together successfully on this project, because the direct contact is an important segment of entrepreneurship, which manifests itself in conversations and meetings. In his opinion, this situation has taught us that we need to reshape our business habits, but that doesn't mean we have to give them up. The event was carried out taking into account all epidemiological regulations.

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized together with the news portal Domovina.je an online discussion on Mai 5th, 2021 about the Slovenian media landscape. With the Chair of Journalism at the University of Ljubljana Prof. Marko Milosavljević, Ph.D. and Prof. Matevž Tomšič, Ph.D. from the School of Advanced Social Studies, we talked, among others, about freedom and pluralism in the Slovenian media landscape.

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the business magazine Lider organized together an online event on Mai 7th, 2021 within the cycle of investment forums "Lider invest". Entrepreneurs, representatives of institutions, public and local authorities from the east of Croatia discussed the most important investments for economic development and recovery of the country. The goal of the event was to promote productive investments that create new jobs, increase exports and create added value.
