Stipendiatentreffen

Die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung veranstaltete vom 9. Bis zum 11. Dezember 2022 in Medulin eine Konferenz zur Heraus-forderungen der Zukunft Europas in der gegenwärtigen Situation für (Alt-)Stipendiaten der Stiftung. Währen der 3-tägigen Konferenz diskutierten die Teilnehmer über die internationale Politik, Kommunikation in Krisen- und Kriegszei-ten, Russische Einflussoperationen und Soziale Netzwerke, Resilienz, kritische Infrastruktur, hybride Kriegsführung, den Krieg Russlands gegen die Ukraine, den Einfluss des Ukraine-Krieges auf die Region Südosteuropas/Westlicher Balkan, die Funktionsweise der Sozialen Netzwerke und die Meinungsbildung (Informations- und Desinformationskampagnen) in Sozialen Netzwerken.

KAS/IJEK Security Conference

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized in cooperation with the Institut "Dr. Janez Evangelist Krek" (IJEK) of the Slovenian party "New Slovenia" (NSi) on December 6th, 2022 in Ljubljana a security conference on "Europe’s answer to security challenges in the Region". During the workshop, NSi Party leader Matej Tonin analyzed together with the former Minister of Defence of the Federal Republic of Germany and Former Leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, and the former Minister of Defence of North Macedonia and a former leader of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia, Radmila Šekerinska the security and policy challenges and consequences for Europe caused by the war in Ukraine.

"Christian Democratic Values in Politics and Society"

Together with the Croatian Statehood Foundation (ZHDZ) and the Catholic University of Croatia, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organised their traditional annual "Conference on Values" in Zagreb on December 5th, 2022. In the presence of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Gordan Grlić Radman, PhD, the former Minister of Defence of the Federal Republic of Germany and Former Leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) Annegret Kramp- Karrenbauer, the Chairman of Deputy Group NSi, former Minister of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities of the Republic of Slovenia Janez Cigler Kralj, the former Minister of Defence of North Macedonia and a former leader of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia Radmila Šekerinska as well as the Rector of the Catholic University of Croatia, Prof. Željko Tanjić, PhD we discussed the importance of the role of Christian-democratic values in the development of politics and society in these times of crisis caused by the war in Ukraine.

"Widerstandsfähigkeit Kritischer Infrastruktur"

Rolle der öffentlich-privaten Partnerschaft beim Aufbau von Widerstandsfähigkeit

Die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung veranstaltete in Zusammenarbeit mit dem "Zentrum für Sicherheitskooperation" (RACVIAC) vom 1. bis 2. Dezember 2022 eine Fachkonferenz zum Thema: "Widerstandsfähigkeit Kritischer Infrastruktur - Rolle der öffentlich-privaten Partnerschaft beim Aufbau von Widerstandsfähigkeit". In Anwesenheit des Vertreters des kroatischen Innenministeriums, Dražen Štajduhar und des Direktors des Forschungsinstitutes für hybride Kriegsführung, Dr. Gordan Akrap, diskutierten zahlreiche Sicherheitsexperten mit Kollegen aus Europa und der Region über hybride Bedrohungen, den Schutz kritischer Infrastrukturen, die Cyber-Dimension des Schutzes kritischer Infrastrukturen sowie die strategischen und normativen Ansätze zur Stärkung der Widerstandsfähigkeit.

Alumni Congress

Within the political youth program of the Croatian Statehood Foundation (ZHDZ), the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized a congress of former graduates of the "Political Academy" in Tuheljske Toplice from November 26th to 27th, 2022. It was attended by the Croatian Prime Minister, Andrej Plenković, and numerous ministers from his cabinet, as well as a member of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, President of Women in the EPP, and President of the Robert Schuman Institute, Dr. Doris Pack. Participants from all alumni generations debated in two-panel discussions with HDZ politicians and political scientists about the importance of political education for the further development of a democratic society and about the security and economic aspects at a global, regional, and national level as a result of the war in Ukraine.

New European security architecture with an emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe

International Conference

Together with the Hybrid Warfare Research Institute and the University of Maribor, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized an international conference on "New European security architecture with an emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe" in Kranj on November 28th, 2022. During the conference, university representatives and security experts from Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, and Ukraine discussed the causes and consequences of the war in Ukraine, its security aspects, its impact on European unity, and a new European security architecture."

German Politics and Shift in the European Position Towards Recognition of the Republic Croatia

The President of the Robert Schuman Institute and Honorary President of EPP Women, Doris Pack, PhD., visited the “Museum of the Croatian Homeland War” in Karlovac in the background of the Remembrance Day (Victims of the Homeland War) on November 25, 2022. After the museum tour, Dr. Pack took part in the conference on “German Politics and Shift in the European Position Towards Recognition of the Republic Croatia”. During the conference, Dr. Pack discussed with the mayor Karlovac, Damir Mandić and the prefect of Karlovac County, Martina Furdek Hajdin, and witnesses of the war in Croatia, Germany's role in the recognition of Croatia's independence.

Neue Sicherheitsherausforderungen für Europa - Russlands Angriff auf die Ukraine

10. Regionaltagung

Die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung veranstaltete in Zusammenarbeit mit dem "Zentrum für Sicherheitskooperation" (RACVIAC) vom 16. bis 17. November 2022 die 10. Regionaltagung zu den aktuellen sicherheitspolitischen Herausforderungen in Südosteuropa mit Fokus auf den Krieg in der Ukraine. Im Beisein des Verteidigungsministers der Republik Kroatien, Mario Banožić und des deutschen Botschafters in der Republik Kroatien, Dr. Christian Hellbach, diskutierten Sicherheitsexperten mit Kollegen aus Europa und der Region über die Dynamik der euroatlantischen Integration, die Entwicklung der Diplomatie und Verteidigung Südosteuropas sowie über die Ursachen und Folgen des Krieges in der Ukraine.

Youth and Politics ZHDZ

2nd Modul

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Croatian Statehood Foundation (ZHDZ) organized another educational event of the series "Youth and Politics" in Rovinj from November 11th to 13th, 2022. The event was attended by numerous representatives of Croatian universities as well as security and communication experts. The selected graduates of the Political Academy PLUS of the ZHDZ conducted a discussed with board members of the HDZ youth organization the basics of modern politics and networking society, a national and international security policy, the importance of political leadership and instruments of effective political communication.

5th Workshop

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized in cooperation with the Institut Dr. Janez Evangelist Krek (IJEK) of the Slovenian party "New Slovenia" on November 4th and 5th, 2022 in Postojna, Slovenia the 5th workshop of the series: "Political Analysis and Communication". During the workshop participants discussed with communication experts the models of the election campaigns, the characteristics of the electorate, and how to activate the voters to participate in the elections.
