Together with the Dr. Jože Pučnik Institute (IJP) of the Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS), the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized on March 10th, 2023 in Slovenska Bistrica a celebratory event where representatives of the SDS party leadership and the founder of the Institute Gorazd Pučnik discussed the influence of totalitarian regimes on the culture that shapes society and her impact on future democratic developments in the country and society.

Study Trip of the Political Academy PLUS of the ZHDZ

Study Trip

Together with the Croatian Statehood Foundation, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized a study trip for the participants of the 2nd and 3rd generation of the Political Academy PLUS of the ZHDZ in Cadenabbia, Italy, from March 6th to 9th, 2023. Within the study trip, the participants were received in Milan by the Consul of the Republic of Croatia in Italy, Mr. Stjepan Ribić, who introduced the participants to the functioning of the Italian administration and Croatian emigration. During the study trip, participants took part in lectures on European values, migration challenges, challenges of inflation and introduction of the euro, labor market adjustment in the context of green and digital transition, and reform of the Croatian electoral system.

Local implementation of the energy transition: Framework conditions for future urban development

Radio Show

Together with the Web portal ZGRADOnačelnik.hr, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized a radio show about the framework conditions of future urban development in relation to the local implementation of the energy transition on the radio station Poslovni FM on March 9th, 2023. We discussed with the Mayor of Karlovac Mr. Damir Mandić the successful energy efficiency projects in Karlovac.

Youth and Politics ZHDZ

Modul 3

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Croatian Statehood Foundation (ZHDZ) organized another educational event of the series "Youth and Politics" in Slavonski Brod from February 17th to 19th, 2023. The selected graduates of the Political Academy PLUS of the ZHDZ discussed with university representatives and communication experts the importance of teamwork and team management in politics, the obstacles to effective communication, the relationship between ethics and politics and the media and politics, the dangers of media manipulation and the importance of media literacy in the modern political landscape.

The Office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for Croatia and Slovenia organized a conference of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for heads of country offices and regional programs from Southeast Europe and the countries of the Western Balkans from February 1st to 3rd, 2023 in Trakošćan. During the three-day conference, heads of KAS offices exchanged views with politicians (diplomats), security and migration experts on the 3-Seas-Initiative, the Belt and Road Initiative (16+1), the common position of the EU countries on Russia's attack and the war in Ukraine, and a possible common European security and defense policy.

Interim evaluation

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation together with the Croatian Statehood Foundation (ZHDZ) organized the regular event "interim evaluation" of the 16th generation of the ZHDZ's junior political education program from January 20th to 22nd, 2023. This weekend seminar always takes place at the end of the first semester of the one-year training course, offers lectures by political stakeholders, and serves above all to evaluate the training success achieved so far as well as the preparation of the second half of the course.

On the occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, on the eve of Croatia's presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), on Thursday, January 19th, 2023, the seminar "Wannsee Conference - The Final Solution of the Jewish Question" was organized by the Konrad Foundation Adenauer in cooperation with the Center for the Promotion of Tolerance and the Preservation of Holocaust Remembrance, the Goethe-Institut in Croatia and the Festival of Tolerance - JFF Zagreb. The president of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the former president of the German Bundestag, prof. Dr. Norbert Lammert also addressed the gathered guests via video message.

Seminar

Together with the Institute “Dr. Janez Evangelist Krek” (IJEK), the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized from January 13th to 14th, 2023 in Bled an educational seminar for current and future women politicians of the NSi. During the seminar, representatives of the NSi women's organization discussed the role of women in Slovenian politics and the consequences of the war in Ukraine with representatives of the NSi party leadership, including NSi party leader Matej Tonin.

In the presence of the Vicegovernor of the Croatian National Bank and former Minister of Economy Tomislav Coric, PhD., the participants of the weekend-seminar discussed with communication experts and university representatives the advantages of introducing the euro, new models of economic policy (Green Deal), the importance of political leadership and protocol in politics, as well as about political communication in times of war and crisis.

Herausforderungen für die Jugend - Die geopolitische Situation in Europa

Stipendiatentreffen

Die Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung veranstaltete vom 9. Bis zum 11. Dezember 2022 in Medulin eine Konferenz zur Heraus-forderungen der Zukunft Europas in der gegenwärtigen Situation für (Alt-)Stipendiaten der Stiftung. Währen der 3-tägigen Konferenz diskutierten die Teilnehmer über die internationale Politik, Kommunikation in Krisen- und Kriegszei-ten, Russische Einflussoperationen und Soziale Netzwerke, Resilienz, kritische Infrastruktur, hybride Kriegsführung, den Krieg Russlands gegen die Ukraine, den Einfluss des Ukraine-Krieges auf die Region Südosteuropas/Westlicher Balkan, die Funktionsweise der Sozialen Netzwerke und die Meinungsbildung (Informations- und Desinformationskampagnen) in Sozialen Netzwerken.
