Women in Politics ZHDZ

Seminar, Modul 5, 5th Generation

Together with the Croatian Statehood Foundation (ZHDZ), the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized another seminar of the series "Women in Politics" for young female politicians of the HDZ from June 23rd to 25th, 2023 in Trogir on the island of Čiovo. In the presence of the political secretary of the HDZ, Chairman of the HDZ-Organization in Split and Member of the Croatian Parliament, Ante Sanader, the participants of the weekly seminar discussed with financial and communication experts the basics of the budget of Croatia and the EU, transparent management of the finances of parties and politicians in the context of political election campaigns, and the importance of building the image of politicians in modern politics.

Political Academy" of the ZHDZ: Final Evaluation

Sommer School

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized with the Croatian Statehood Foundation (ZHDZ) from June 8th to 11th, 2023 on the Island of Vis the "final evaluation" for the 16th generation of the ZHDZ's junior political education program. This weekend seminar always takes place at the end of the second semester of the one-year training course, offers lectures by political stakeholders and serves above all for the evaluation of the training success achieved.

Developing society’s post-war resilience in Ukraine – Perspectives and challenges - defence of democracy

International Security Conference

With the support from our partners the Hybrid Warfare Research Institute (HWRI), the University of Zadar, the Croatia Statehood Foundation (ZHDZ) and the Institute dr. Janez Evangelist Krek (IJEK), the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized an international security conference on perspectives and challenges of developing society's resilience after the war in Ukraine from June 5th to 7th, 2023 in Zadar. During the conference experts in various fields from Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro Moldova and the Ukraine discussed the Post-war (re)construction of democratic society in Ukraine, the European society's resilience to future challenges, the importance of defending and preserving democracy, and protecting human rights and freedoms.

Youth and Politics ZHDZ

Modul 4

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Croatian Statehood Foundation (ZHDZ) organized another educational event of the series "Youth and Politics" in Bol on the Island of Brač from June 2nd to 4th, 2023. The selected graduates of the Political Academy PLUS of the ZHDZ discussed with security and communication experts the political importance of the BRICS states, the institutionalization of international security, the American military power in current international relations, EU foreign and security policy, European security and cooperation in the context of large migrations, and the importance of political communication.

2nd Croatian Congress on Biosafety and Biosecurity

Security Congress

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation, in collaboration with the Croatian Society for Biosafety and Biosecurity (HDBIB) of the Croatian Medical Association, organized the Second Croatian Congress on Biosafety and Biosecurity from May 25 to 27, 2023 in Zagreb. Through this congress, a broad domestic and international scientific and professional community was brought together to discuss a variety of interdisciplinary topics related to biosafety and biosecurity. Additionally, experiences with the COVID-19 pandemic and current strategies for addressing future challenges were presented.

Croatia in the Global AIrena

G.R.I.D. FORUM

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized in cooperation with the business magazine Lider the G.R.I.D. Forum on "Croatia in the Global AIrena" in Zagreb on May 24th, 2023. At the forum, university representatives, IT, PR, communication and finance experts discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the development and application of artificial intelligence, the regulation of artificial intelligence, the industry of the future, the activities of the European Digital Innovation Centers (EDIH) and about the importance of sustainable financing of the green and digital transformation.

Political Analysis and Communication ZHDZ

Crisis communication in public administration and politics, 2nd Workshop

In cooperation with the Croatian Statehood Foundation (ZHDZ), the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized the 2nd workshop of the series: "Political Analysis and Communication" for the Board of the HDZ Split in Trogir on the island of Čiovo from May 19th to 20th, 2023. During the workshop, the participants discussed with the president of HDZ Split, Tomislav Šuta, the president of the HDZ of the county of Split-Dalmatia and member of the Croatian Parliament, Ante Sanader and communication experts the strategies of political communication, the importance of crisis communication as well as about the forms of public appearance in election campaigns.

Croatian Security Industry: Private Security 2023

International Security Conference

Together with the Croatian Security Association, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized an international security conference entitled "Croatian Security Industry: Private Security 2023" in Zagreb on April 27th, 2023. During the conference, domestic and foreign security experts discussed with Croatian political representatives on topics such as: Private Security Industry, Critical Entity Resilience Directive, Security by Design, Technical Protection - Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Digitization and Lifelong Learning, and Skills in Private Security Industry.

Future of local and regional democracy in Croatia

Conference

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the existence of the Croatian County Association (CCA), the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized organized together with the CCA a conference on “Future of local and regional democracy in Croatia” in Opatija on April 28th, 2023. With the participation of the Croatian Prime Minister, Andrej Plenković, as well as representatives of counties and ministries, during the conference we discussed possibilities for better networking and cooperation between the counties as well as challenges of local and regional self-government in the future.

Renewable energy in Croatia

Radio Show

Together with the Web portal ZGRADOnačelnik.hr, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized a radio show about renewable energy in Croatia on the radio station Poslovni FM on April 19th, 2023. We discussed with Hrvoje Pandžić, Head of the Institute for High Voltage and Energy at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), the great potential of electricity production from renewable sources.
