KAS Conference: Southeast Europe and Western Balkans

KAS Conference

From October 4th to 7th, 2022, the Office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for Croatia and Slovenia organized a conference of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for heads of country offices and regional programs from Southeast Europe and the countries of the Western Balkans in Vrbnik on the island of Krk. During the three-day conference, heads of KAS offices exchanged views with politicians, security, and migration experts on topics such as "Regional Security Policy", "Migration", "Political Education" and "Future of the EU".

Retail under the conditions of energy and climate change

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized together with the business magazine "Suvremena trgovina" on October 5th, 2022 the MAGROS conference on "Retail under the conditions of energy and climate change". In two panel discussions, economic experts and representatives of Croatian companies discussed retail under the conditions of energy and climate change, the challenges of the euro's introduction and the disruptions and delays in supply chains.

16th Croatian Security Days

16th Conference of Croatian Security Managers - HUMS 2022

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized together with the Croatian Association of Security Managers (HUMS) from September 28th to 30th, 2022 in Opatija a conference on issues of corporate security and new models of security management under the name "15th Croatian Security Days". The Dean of the University of VERN, Prof. Vlatko Cvrtila, PhD, and the security expert, Prof. Robert Kopal, PhD, took part on the conference. During the event, participants discussed topics as "Security situation during the war in Ukraine", "Role of intelligence services", "New technologies for secure business", "Corporate security", "Security solutions in tourism", "Hybrid threats and strategic risks in critical industries of the Smart Industries", etc.

"Political Academy" PLUS

Workshop, Modul 7

Together with the Croatian Statehood Foundation, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung is organizing from September 9th to 11th, 2022 in Bol on the island of Brač a workshop of the series: "Political Academy PLUS". During the workshop, professors from various Croatian universities lectured on the political importance of the BRICS countries, the role of leadership in politics, models of successful communication and convincing presentation of political content.

Analysis of political and social challenges in Slovenia

NSi Seminar – Political Campaining

The Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation organized in cooperation with the NSi-Bildungsinstitut: Dr. Janez Evangelist Krek (IJEK) of the Slovenian party "New Slovenia" on September 5th and 6th, 2022 in Portorož a seminar on: " Analysis of political and social challenges in Slovenia". During the workshop, NSi Party leader Matej Tonin analyzed together with other NSi party members, economic, energy, financial and communication experts the consequences of the current crisis, the impact of the crisis on energy supply and financial markets, the characteristics of the Slovenian electorate, and the importance of political communication during campaigns.

Handover of certificates to young politicians of the HDZ

In the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the Repubic of Croatia, Davor Božinović, PhD, the HDZ general secretary, Krunoslav Katačić, MEP Karlo Ressler, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Croatia, Harald Seibel as well as other representatives of the party leadership and the Croatian Statehood Foundation (ZHDZ), certificates were handover to graduates of the 15th generation of the Political Academy for their successful participation in this year's political program for the education of young politicians on September 3rd, 2022 in Zagreb. This event represents the beginning, or to be precise, the first seminar of the 16th generation of the ZHDZ Political Academy.

European Academy Otzenhausen

The European Academy Otzenhausen organized togehter with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung from August 18th to 29th, 2022 the Sommer Aacademy. In addition to our representatives Pavao Škoko Gavranović and the former intern of the KAS office in Zagreb, Alena Beram, KAS representatives from Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Albania also took part in the Summer Academy.

Democracy fit for the new age

Young Bled Strategic Forum 2022

In cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia and the Center for European Perspective, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung participated in the organization of the 11th Young Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia from August 26th to 28th, 2022. During the forum, all forum participants explored different Interpretations of the term democracy, democratic values and principles through the prism of 4 core pillars: Media literacy, Prosperity through diversity, Analysis of democracy and Joint solutions for joint challenges The 11th edition of the Young Bled Strategic Forum continued to build on its tradition and interactive framework. Again this year, the forum enabled cooperation between young executives and an exchange with decision-makers and international representatives.

Women in Politics V

Seminar, Modul 3, 5th Generation

Together with the Croatian Statehood Foundation (ZHDZ), the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized from August 26th to 28th, 2022 in Dubrovnik the 3rd seminar of the series "Women in Politics" for young female politicians of the HDZ. In the presence of the mayor of the city of Dubrovnik, Mato Franković, the participants of the weekend-seminar discussed with communication experts and university representatives the importance and challenges of political communication, the politics in the context of a network society, the elements of online election campaigns and new media (digital marketing) as well as the political speeches and appearances.

"Political Academy" of the NSi

Seminar

In cooperation with the NSi Institute "Dr. Janez Evangelist Krek" (IJEK), the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized the first seminar of the NSi "Political Academy" from July 1st to 2nd, 2022 in Portorož. During the 2-day seminar, the president of NSi Matej Tonin discussed with representatives of the NSi and the seminar participants the foundations of democracy, the importance of Christian Democratic values in politics and society, inter-parliamentary cooperation and the elements of effective media communication.
