Latvian public media - illusions and expectations

Loss of professional journalists. Rating declines. Inefficient management. Creativity crisis and the lack of money. These are just a few examples, which currently represent the public image of public television and radio. Will a new public media change the society’s attitude and how should it be to gain the audience's trust?

The participants of the discussion are: Media researcher Jānis Juzefovičs, LTV journalist Arnis Krauze, newspaper Neatkarīgā Rīta Avīze columnist Viktors Avotiņš and broadcast Nekā personīga (TV3) director and producer Arta Ģiga. The discussion will be chaired by journalist Baiba Strautmane. A discussion will be translated live in www.politika.lv and on the Konrad Adenauer Foundation www.kas.de/lettland website. After the discussion, everyone is invited to continue the discussions with a glass of wine.
