On October 2nd, 2009, the EU financed project “Adventure Sphere Europe” was launched at a kick-off conference in Riga by the implementing organizations, the German Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of the University of Latvia and the Estonian Jaan Tönisson Institute. The Latvian Minister of Education, Professor Tatjana Koķe, and Kalle Küttis, the Estonian Deputy Secretary General for General and Vocational Education welcomed the initiative underlining the importance of European political education.
