There is no denial that a trend in urban poverty is present in modern day Lebanon. In this conference, we hope to bring together the scattered expertise on poverty in Lebanon whether they belong to academia, the policymaking world, or non-governmental and international organizations to offer a platform for a discussion on urban poverty in Lebanon. We will furthermore explore the tools offered by the model of Social Market Economy to hamper urban poverty and to draw recommendations for the challenges Lebanon faces today, in the midst of the Syrian refugee crisis.
