On the 28th of October 2017, the Democratic Renewal Movement and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized an expert panel regarding the policy paper “Managing religious diversity in democratic systems; a roadmap towards a civil state in Lebanon.”

Gathering of youngsters from Tripoli, Ersal and Baalbek

On the 21st of October 2017, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organized, in partnership with AD4Peace, Safe Side and Utopia, a gathering between 60 young men and women from Tripoli, Ersal and Baalbek to bridge between regions which has been separated by the late events in the respective cities.

On the 17th of July 2017, the Lebanese Forces party together with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation hosted at the Lebanese Forces Head Quarters in Meerab a conference on the security and terror threats in Lebanon and the appropriate response.

A two-day conference about external interventions in the Arab Middle East was held on May 17-18th 2017 by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Maison du Futur in Bikfaya in the presence of regional and international experts.

Delegation of female political activists from Lebanon visits Germany

From 6th to 10th of March, a Lebanese study group visited Berlin and Sachsen. The group consisting of female political activists had the chance to gain an insight to the German approach on fostering gender equality. The idea is that the women can serve as multipliers and carry their experiences back to their own Lebanese surroundings and start a reform process within their political parties.

Prof. Dr. Bernhard Vogel, former Minister President of Rhineland- Palatinate and Thuringia and Honorary Chairman of Konrad- Adenauer- Stiftung (KAS) and Dr. Gerhard Wahlers, Deputy Secretary- General and Head of the Department of European and International Cooperation of KAS have been on a visit to Lebanon.

The organization ‘EDGE for Lebanon’ in cooperation with KAS Lebanon promoted several trainings on conflict resolution that brought together different young people from different regions and provided them with soft skills on conflict resolution.

Lebanon Delegation at CDU Party Congress

Meeting with Chancellor of Germany,Dr. Angela Merkel

The delegation from Lebanon, consisting of representatives of the Kataeb Party and the Lebanese Forces Party, participated in the CDU Party Congress in Essen, Germany, following the invitation of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's Lebanon program. They had the great opportunity to meet the Chancellor of Germany and Head of the CDU, Dr. Angela Merkel, during their three-day consultations.
