In mid-July 2023, MP Christoph Ploss, Head of the Arab-German Parliamentary Group of the German Bundestag, embarked on a visit to Lebanon with the aim of strengthening the bonds between Germany and Lebanon, while acquiring a comprehensive understanding of the challenges Lebanon is facing. The visit was centered around engaging with local politicians, civil society organizations, UNIFIL representatives, and UNHCR officials, highlighting key issues such as the situation of Syrian refugees, Lebanon's internal dynamics, and environmental concerns.
