MIM Crucial Conversations: Fighting Corruption Together

MIM Crucial Conversatons is an initiative to have bold and open conversations and discussions centred around current topics that will bring about greater awareness in the New Malaysia. This is the first of this series of conversations to engage in constructive dialogues, share best practises and experiences, to work towards making positive improvements in the corporate governance landscape in Malaysia.

Malaysia’s score of 47 points out of 100 on the 2018 Corruption Perceptions Index, ranks Malaysia as a highly corrupted nation. Plagued by multiple high profile corruption scandals over the years, Malaysia's score has been incessantly dropping since 2014. This event hopes to address the question: how does a country infiltrated by corruption become corrupt-free?

Topics of conversation:

  • Challenges faced by Malaysian corporates in fighting corruption
  • Rights and responsibilities of the citizens to combat corruption
  • The National Anti-corruption Plan (NACP) and its implementation
  • Fighting corruption as a nation
