Inter-religious tolerance in Macedonia

Promoting inter-religious dialogue in Macedonia through capacity building for media and religious representatives

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Institute for Democracy are organizing a conference respective to “Inter-religious tolerance in Macedonia” open to the representatives of the religious communities, ethnologist and media representatives.


The Konrad Adenauer Foundation in cooperation with the Institute for Democracy “Societas Civilis” on the 7th of October 2011 in Skopje will organize one day conference for the heads of the five religious communities in Macedonia, ethnologists and the press. It will bring on one place all relevant stake holders for enhancing the religious dialogue and tolerance in the country. On the conference members from the long-established and successfully working Inter-Religious Council from Bosnia and Herzegovina will share their experience and best practice of the work of this body. The conference’s aim is to increase the level of dialogue and discussion on religious tolerance in the public discourse. The thematic panels will include issues such as the role of the media in the religious dialogue, politics and religion, ways and prospects for improved religious tolerance and education reform. The conference will promote the outcomes of the previous activities and will launch the awareness raising campaign.
