In organization of Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Institute for Democracy “Societas Civilis”-Skopje

Discussion

Dialogue for Cooperation in the Field of European Integration and Accession Negotiations

Considering the lack of expertise, which North Macedonia lacks in regards to the Accession Negotiations, it is of key importance that the country utilizes regional expertise. In this context country which has successfully finalized this process in more recent history is Bulgaria. Keeping in mind the new positive dynamic of the bilateral relationship between the two countries Bulgarian experts could be used to spur the process of EU integration by providing significant know-how and knowledge. The aim of this event is to open a table of dialogue which includes academia, experts, politicians, journalists and representatives of NGO’s aiming to boost North Macedonia’s capacity for negotiation once the process initiates.

I. Regional Political Youth Academy - Challenges to European Democracy

in cooperation with the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies from Brussels
There are many organizations that bring young people from the region together. However, there is no initiative that connects the leadership of the political youth organizations of the KAS partner parties in the region. It is important to understand that these people will lead the countries in the next couple of decades. Because of this they need to get to know their region in terms of economy, society, energy, security etc. The main objective of this Regional Political Youth Academy is to create contacts between the young leaders belonging to the EPP family and to encourage them to think through the prism of the whole region and in the spirit of Euro-Atlantic friendship and values. The topics discussed during the academy will refer to Challenges to European Democracy, the Future of Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, the Future of the Transatlantic Relations and Security, Economy, Cultural Exchange, Regional Cooperation and etc.
