The possibilities for integrating social media into political campaigns was a key theme for the group of fifteen young political communicators from seven countries across Africa who gathered in Nairobi, Kenya recently for the KAS E-lection Bridge Academy workshop.

Angola prepares to go to the polls

With elections set for 23 August, all political parties in Angola are planning their campaigns to win the attention of the voters. KAS Media Africa, in partnership with the Angolan Institute for Electoral System and Democracy (IASED), shared their political campaigning expertise at a jointly-hosted three day multi-party stakeholder workshop in Luanda last month.

Launch of Media Law Handbook for Eastern Africa in Nairobi

KAS Media Africa’s latest publication, the Media Law Handbook for Eastern Africa was launched last week at the Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communication in Nairobi. Lawyers, journalists, academics and representatives from civil society attended the launch and listened to author Justine Limpitlaw’s keynote talk about key media law trends in the region. The guests were able to discuss developments with contributing lawyers and take home copies of the handbook free of charge.
