The initiative brought together five journalists from Bénin, Guinea, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, and Mali for an immersive 12-day workshop in verifying information, debunking misinformation, and strengthening journalistic credibility.

From 14 - 17 July 2025, KAS Media Africa supported the First Pan-African Media Councils’ Summit, hosted in Arusha, Tanzania, by the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT) in partnership with the Network of Independent Media Councils of Africa (NIMCA), the East Africa Press Councils (EAPC), and the World Association of Press Councils (WAPC). The summit brought together media regulators and stakeholders from across the continent to reflect on regional challenges, share best practices, and strengthen cooperation for ethical and sustainable journalism.
