Invited jointly by the Media Programme Asia and the Rule of Law Programme of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Singapore, media and legal experts from India, Korea, Nepal, The Philippines and Germany will share their insight into this topic. The conference programme foresees, inter alia, an assessment of the situation of the media in Nepal and an investigation into the benefits and threats posed by media laws to journalists. The conference participants will also exchange ideas on the possible applicability of the laws regulating the media in Europe to the Asian context.
