KAS panel at Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum

A KAS panel discussion on media freedom and European values took place on 14 June during the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum. Speakers were the freelance South East Europe correspondent Frank Stier, Milica Šarić, Journalist at the Center for Investigative Reporting in Serbia (CINS), Nadine Gogu, Executive Director of the Independent Journalism Center (IJC) and Ognian Zlatev, Head of the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria. The discussion was moderated by Christian Spahr, Head of the KAS Media Program South East Europe.

Besuch von Politikjournalisten aus Südosteuropa

Auf Einladung der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung sind in dieser Woche Politikjournalisten aus Südosteuropa zu Gast in Berlin. Neben Einblicken in die deutsche Parteienlandschaft sollen das deutsche Mediensystem vorgestellt werden, um Anregungen zu geben für die Debatte um Unabhängigkeit der Medien, Mediengesetzgebung und Selbstregulierung in Südosteuropa sowie Geschäftsmodelle für Medien. Das Besucherprogramm wurde vom Team Inlandsprogramme organisiert und wird von Christian Spahr, Leiter des Medienprogramms Südosteuropa, begleitet.

KAS Task Force Journalism Education meets in Moldova

The working group of the KAS Media Program South East Europe on Journalism Education met from 20th to 22nd of April in Chişinău, Moldova. It was founded in 2013. Twice a year, media experts from universities and NGOs from the region gather to discuss necessary improvements in journalism education in their countries.

PRO.PR conference: KAS addresses political communication

For the first time, the KAS Media Program South East Europe was part of the agenda of the biggest international PR conference in the region: PRO.PR. The event took place on the 8th and 9th April in Budva (Montenegro). PRO.PR has been organised since 2003. Once a year, it gathers leading communication experts from all over Europe.
