BALKANMEDIA.org – the latest media developments in South East Europe at a glance

BALKANMEDIA.org, launched by the Media Programme in 2014, presents in a compact and clearly structured way the media situation in ten South East European countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Romania and Serbia. Here you can find current media news as well as overviews of the most relevant media in these countries. The website also offers publications and analyses on the topics of media freedom, journalism education and political communication in the region.

"The online platform is an excellent opportunity to inform yourself quickly and competently about the media in South East Europe," says Hendrik Sittig, Head of the KAS Media Programme South East Europe. "We are monitoring the media situation in ten South East European countries and are giving with BALKANMEDIA.org a compact overview on the recent developments."

The KAS Media Programme South East Europe is based in Sofia. With its projects, the Programme supports the training of journalists, promotes quality journalism and thus strengthens the role of independent media as one of the basis of the democratic society.
