The first panel deals with the topic of empowering citizen for digital dialogue. Among others, deputy spokesperson of the Federal Government Georg Streiter will exchange experiences on the usage of online tools with Thibault Lesenecal, Head of the online communication of the European Parliament, and Magdalena Kudlicka from the Polish Foreign Ministry. SEECOM Secretary General Vuk Vujnović will explain best practice examples and projects from South East Europe. The panel will be moderated by Erik den Hoedt, Director of the Public Information and Communication Office of the Dutch government.

In a following panel discussion, Dmytro Kuleba, communication expert of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, will speak with experts from the Baltic states on the role of online government communications in times of geopolitical crisis. Using the example of the Ukraine conflict, Kuleba will discuss with his colleagues Žana Tarasevič from Lithuania, Taavi Toom from Estonia and Sanda Svetoka from the Riga based NATO Centre of Excellence, about the challenge to spread objective information online (Moderation by Christian Spahr, Head of the KAS Media Program South East Europe).

Another core topic of the conference is the digital communication of the European Union. On Panel III, Jens Paulus, KAS Head of Team Europe and North America, will exchange ideas on how to promote European values on the internet with Vessela Tcherneva from the European Council on Foreign Relations and European Commission’s online expert Robert Andrecs. Prior to them, Ivana Đurić, Assistant Director of the Serbian government’s European Integration Office, will speak a keynote. The debate will be moderated by Vincenzo Le Voci, Secretary-General of the Club of Venice.

The conference is organised by the KAS Media Program South East Europe and the "Club of Venice", a network of communications directors of EU institutions and member states’ governments. Cooperation partners of the event are the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies and the regional Public Sector communication association SEECOM.
